Biography
Randal is an informatics scientist first and foremost, whether that is in genetic sequencing or financial models predicting fraud. He has a decade of experience in the credit card industry, modeling credit card and ATM fraud, ultimately culminating in the co-founding of Rippleshot, a Chicago-based company that uses machine learning to quickly identify and mitigate losses from credit and debit card data breaches like the ones we’ve seen over the past several years at Wendy’s, Hilton, Home Depot and Target.
Randal holds a PhD in Molecular Genetics from the University of Illinois at Chicago and has published papers in cutting edge bioinformatics studies, including theoretical genome assembly, phylogenetic analysis used to determine protein functions, and studies of unusual DNA structures.
